March 14: Drop-in Day and Precollege Jazz Festival with the Extension Division

Precollege Jazz Festival

The Extension Division hosts the Rutgers Jazz Festival on Saturday, March 14, 2015 from 8:30 a.m.–3 p.m. at the Nicholas Music Center on Douglass Campus. Participation costs $30 per individual or $200 per ensemble. Precollege jazz ensembles and high school students are encouraged to attend.

At this festival students and jazz ensembles will work with Mason Gross jazz faculty in rehearsals, master classes, and sectional workshops, culminating in performances by the student ensembles and faculty. Awards and scholarships will be given out at the end of the festival. Light breakfast fare and lunch are provided.

Drop-in Day

On Saturday, March 14, 2015 the Mason Gross Extension Division will hold a Drop-in Day from 9:30 a.m.–2 p.m. at the Mason Gross Performing Arts Center and the Civic Square Building. Drop-in Day is free.

The day allows prospective students and parents observe particular instructors or programs "in action" before registering or scheduling a trial lesson. Classes, private lessons, ensemble rehearsals, and special events are all open to prospective students and their families to visit.
