Stravinsky's "Rite of Spring" at Rutgers 3/2; broadcast on WWFM 3/4

The premiere of the ballet and orchestral work The Rite of Spring in Paris a century ago sparked a riot, with its composer, Igor Stravinsky, reportedly being forced to hide in a double bass case as part of his mad escape.

Rutgers Symphony Band to honor band leader Arthur Pryor on March 14

The Rutgers Symphony Band is set to dedicate a performance to trombonist, band leader and composer Arthur Pryor (1870-1942) in Americana on the Raritana, a pops concert scheduled for Thursday, March 14, 2013, at Nicholas Music Center.

Shanghai Quartet to play FREE Feb. 11

The renowned Shanghai Quartet is set to conduct a master class from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 11, 2013, at Nicholas Music Center, in the Mason Gross Performing Arts Center. The master class is free and open to the public.
