Being a successful stage manager comes directly out of one's personality and confidence. My goal as a teacher is to help guide and encourage the student to discover their confidence to become a successful leader who is artistic, humble and a creative solution seeker.

BA, Fordham University

Matthew Melchiorre has been a professional stage manager for 17 years, joining Actors' Equity Association in 2003. Matthew's most recent work has been touring around the country and internationally with Steve Martin and Martin Short. Matthew has worked on the Broadway productions of The Light in the Piazza, Coram Boy, Hamlet (with Jude Law), Monty Python’s Spamalot, The Lion King, Curtains, Wicked, A Tale of Two Cities, The Frogs, and All Shook Up. Matthew’s Off-Broadway productions include work for NY City Center’s Encores! & Off Center! Series on Cabin in the Sky, 1776, Do I Hear a Waltz, Assassins, and Really, Rosie! as well as at Primary Stages, Signature Theatre, Cherry Lane Theatre, New York Theatre Workshop, Roundabout Theatre Company, and Manhattan Theatre Company. Matthew has also established himself at theaters across the country from Westport Country Playhouse, Paper Mill Playhouse, La Jolla Playhouse, Hartford Stage, Baltimore CENTERSTAGE, Long Wharf Theatre, and Two River Theatre Company among several others. Before joining the faculty at Mason Gross School of the Arts, Matthew was an Assistant Professor of Stage Management at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts.
