The Hollywood Reporter has named the Rutgers Filmmaking Center among the top 25 U.S. film schools for 2026.
“As New Jersey continues to boost production incentives (with Netflix taking particular advantage with a planned $1 billion production hub), the Mason Gross School of the Arts is well positioned to train the state’s entertainment workforce,” The Hollywood Reporter says. “Students shouldn’t expect extra bells and whistles, but Rutgers offers an education in the basics of filmmaking, from writing to production, all on a state school tuition, which should not be overlooked.”
Rutgers is mentioned alongside film programs at schools such as New York University and the University of Southern California.
