“The physical environment provided by a university for its various disciplines is a valid means of judging a university’s respect for the full spectrum of man’s knowledge. Let’s produce the leadership necessary to establish respect for the arts in New Jersey.”
Timeline
“Students no longer want just to appreciate, look at, or analyze a thing. They want to do it—they want to act, build scenery, paint, play music, dance. In short, they want to be involved.”

Give
Support the next 50 years and beyond by making a gift to our 50th Anniversary Visionary Fund!
Help us reach our goal of $500,000 to significantly increase scholarships, provide financial assistance, and grow our programs to best support our students. A gift of any amount gets us closer to this ambitious goal.
Featured Funds
Dance Department Scholarship Fund
Retired Professor Don Redlich generously endowed the department and provides $25,000 in scholarships for dance majors annually. To match Don’s scholarship and celebrate his legacy, we’ve established a new Dance Department Scholarship Fund. Please consider contributing to ensure Don’s lasting impact will go twice as far for our dance students!
Mason Gross Scholarship Fund
Less than one-third of the total scholarship awards we offer annually to Mason Gross students are from donor contributions. Helping to offset this much-needed support can directly impact our students and allow Mason Gross to continue providing world-class arts training and education.
Mason Gross School of the Arts Academic Excellence Fund
Support the programs integral to Mason Gross student success including student professional development, performances, exhibitions, screenings, community programs, guest artists and master classes, and much more.
MGSA Student Emergency Fund
Support our students who need financial assistance to help further their education at Mason Gross. Emergency Funds are awarded to students to be used for food, housing, travel, and other sudden costs outside of their tuition. For more information, please view this video.
If you’d like to learn more ways to support Mason Gross or would like to direct your donation to a specific area, please visit Rutgers Foundation – Mason Gross or contact Denyse Reed, Director of Development.
Alumni Gallery
Show us your high hair, your goth phase, your skinny eyebrows: All throughout our golden anniversary in 2026, we’ll be sharing pictures of alums performing, working, or just hanging out on campus during their time at MGSA. Photos of memorabilia, like tickets, T-shirts, or event programs, are also encouraged! Submit images through our Photo Submission Form.
