Extension Division adopts program developed by Carnegie Hall, Royal Conservatory of Toronto

Beginning in fall 2012, the Extension Division will partner with The Achievement Program, or TAP, a new collaboration between Carnegie Hall and The Royal Conservatory of Toronto.

TAP provides a recognized national standard and sequenced program for people studying instrumental and vocal music privately, from beginner through advanced levels. The program’s assessments allow students to track their progress and celebrate their accomplishments. In addition, the assessments provide measurable objectives for parents and teachers to better understand a student's musical growth.

The program also supports independent teachers with innovative, high-quality resources. In adopting TAP syllabi as our standard for instrumental and vocal instruction, the Extension Division seeks to foster an environment of outstanding achievement and focused music study for students of all levels.
