Visiting Filmmaker Series: “Harriet”
“Harriet” (2019) tells the extraordinary tale of Harriet Tubman’s escape from slavery and transformation into one of America’s greatest heroes, whose courage, ingenuity, and tenacity freed hundreds of slaves and changed the course of history. Starring Cynthia Erivo with Leslie Odom Jr., Joe Alwyn, and Janelle Monáe.
The screening will be followed by a Q&A with director Kasi Lemmons, hosted by Professor Shawn Snyder.
