Biography

Wilson Torres is a graduate of The Juilliard School M.A.P, The Juilliard School Pre College program and F.H LaGuardia High School of Music and Art (Fame). He received his BM and MM in Orchestral Performance from The Manhattan School of Music under the tutelage of Duncan Patton and Christopher S. Lamb. Torres has played on over 20 Broadway productions and has held the percussion chair on Tony Award winning MJ:The Musical, Tony and Grammy Award winning musical In the Heights, Les Misérables (25th anniversary revival), Lysistrata Jones, The Wiz (Encores), On Your Toes, Cabin in the Sky, Once Upon A Mattress, Invisible Thread (2nd Stages) and Smokey Joe’s Cafe. He has toured with The Lion King (1st National), Wicked (1st National), and Barry Manilow. Orchestral credits include San Francisco Symphony, New Jersey Symphony, New York Philharmonic, Staten Island Symphony and Albany Symphony. Active in Film and TV studio work, Torres can be heard/seen on Smash, Throwdown with Bobby Flay, Oceans 8, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, Fosse/Verdon, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, West Side Story, In the Heights, Till, Rustin, Bros, Better Nate than Ever to name a few. He has led workshops at some of the finest institutions, some of which include Manhattan School of Music, The Juilliard School, NYU, Rutgers University, and UC Berkeley. Torres is a proud endorser of Sabian Cymbals. When not performing Torres enjoys distance running, cycling, gardening, and training Muay Thai.
