Biography

Vincent Pierce Smith is a multi-instrumentalist, dance accompanist, composer, and teacher. He has performed at Carnegie Hall, The Kennedy Center, and NJPAC, among other  venues. He received a bachelor’s degree in Music from Rutgers University. In 2017, Smith performed tabla with the 6-Wire Band for Vice President Joe Biden at the Wilhelmina Press Thompson Theater in Delaware. Smith has played for Modern and African dance since 2005 under the mentorship of Robert Benford. Smith also accompanies the complex Kathak dance of North India and has studied and performed in India and the United States. He enjoys teaching and spreading musical knowledge by using multicultural instruments and styles to encourage communication, understanding, and acceptance through the language of music.
