Stephanette Schwartz-Smith joins Rutgers after a four-year appointment as Production Coordinator for the Williams Center for the Arts at Lafayette College. She holds an MFA in Lighting Design (Illinois State University). As an adjunct professor, she designed a class on collaboration between the director and designers of a production, the first of its kind at Lafayette. Her designs have been presented by Lafayette College, Lehigh Valley Dance Exchange, Cedar Crest College, Long Beach Opera, Long Beach Ballet, Infamous Commonwealth Theatre (Chicago), and The Actors Gang (Hollywood) to name a few. She was the Head Electrician at Northlight Theatre and Long Beach Terrace Theater. She also is a Sound Designer and Director. Most recently she directed an acclaimed production of “Vanity Fair” adapted by Kate Hamill.
