Biography

Meg Regan is the director/owner of Dance Local, a space for creative dance education in Somerset County, NJ (2021). She is currently studying Clinical Mental Heath Counseling and Dance/Movement Therapy at Rider University (anticipated 2026). Regan served as Managing Director of Dance New Jersey, a statewide nonprofit designed to serve the dance field at large (2020–22). As an educator, she created and implemented the PreK-8 dance education curriculum for schools in Pittstown and Plainfield, NJ (2011–18). As an Part Time Lecturer for Rutgers University and William Paterson University, she has led undergraduate and graduate courses in modern dance technique, History of Broadway Dance, dance pedagogy and Dance Appreciation (2018–24). Regan has presented at state and national conferences on themes such as anti-bullying through movement, problem solving for novice dance teachers and dance teacher identity in the 21st century. She has been a member of various committees at the NJ State Board of Education, including performing arts standards writing and review, model assessment creation, and establishing guidance for aligning social-emotional learning targets to dance education standards (2012–18). She has led her own dance company, Meg Hebert Dance, as choreographer and had the opportunity to perform modern dance in New York City (2006–10). Regan has performed and served as a board member for a NJ based modern dance company (2020–24).
