Lucy Bird’s first job in theatre was as a Globe Education Assistant at Shakespeare’s Globe, where she developed her skills in operational management and administration. From there, she went on to study English and Theatre at the University of Warwick, specializing in Shakespeare.

After graduating, Bird founded Paperback Theatre, where she serves as co-artistic director, producing various adaptation-based works that are primarily performed in non-traditional spaces. Additionally, she works as a director, facilitator, and producer, freelancing for various small to mid-scale companies, mainly in the West Midlands.
