Chinese Pianist Dr. Cong Ji is passionate about engaging her audiences with innovative programming and performances as a soloist, chamber musician and collaborative pianist. She performs regularly in major cities of Asia and the United States, venues include Weill Hall at Carnegie, New York Steinway Hall, Elebash Recital Hall, Taipei National Recital Hall, among others. Dr. Ji has also given solo performances at summer festivals, including the
International Holland Music Sessions (the Netherlands), Orford Musique (Canada), the International Keyboard Institute and Festival in New York City, Academy of Fortepiano Performance, Rethinking Bach Performance Workshop (Japan), Adamant Masterclass Series, Summit Music Festival, and Viena do Castelo Music Festival (Portugal). In 2012, she was invited to participate and to perform in a masterclass in the documentary film Seymour: An Introduction.
Dr. Ji inherited and studied with internationally renowned teachers who present prominent pedagogical schools including those of Asia, Russia, and America. Before joining the piano instructor at Rutgers University Community Arts, Dr. Ji taught applied piano lessons, keyboard harmony and improvisation group lessons at NYU Steinhardt for two years as adjunct faculty. She retains an active teaching studio in the Metropolitan New York Area and online teaching over the Pacific. She was also invited to perform concerts and to conduct masterclasses at the Hong Kong Baptist University, Conservatory of Music at the Hebei Normal University, Henan University, Yanshan University, and Weifang College, and music schools in Beijing, Xi'an and Shandong province. Her students won top prizes in piano competitions, high score in piano exams, and she mentors and teaches students who are admitted to conservatories such as Manhattan School of Music, Cleveland Institute of Music and Indiana University Bloomington, among others.
