Biography

Alan McIntyre Smith is a New York-based cinematographer who’s most recent feature film release, A VIGILANTE, stars Oliva Wilde. Others include All Mistakes Buried, released in 2016 and Best Cinematography winner White Rabbit, released in 2015 stars Brit Robertson, Sam Trammell and Nick Krause. The New York Times cited “thickly atmospheric photography” and The Hollywood Reporter mentioned White Rabbit’s “impressive cinematography.”Smith has shot TV shows for PBS (Retro Report on PBS) and TLC (Four Weddings) as well as music videos from Vintage Trouble and 3OH!3.

Smith has taught cinematography for over a decade at Purchase College, State University of New York and Digital Filmmaking at Rutgers Mason Gross School of the Arts.
