Jazz Trumpet
Joe Mosello is a graduate of the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York. After Eastman, Mosello played lead trumpet with the Jazz Ambassadors of the U.S. Army Field Band in Washington, D.C.
He then toured with Maynard Ferguson’s Band for the next five years. Mosello was a member of the band when they recorded the hit song from the Academy Award winning movie, Rocky. He then settled in New York City has since played jazz, rock, and classical music for television, movies, and commercials.
A team of 17 student pianists from 14 countries is set to perform a concert of music by composers from across the globe, 7:30 p.m. Monday, May 8, 2017, at Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall in New York City.
We’re headed across the river three times this semester, as our students perform and exhibit their work in Manhattan. Grab a ticket, and watch our artists shine up the Big Apple.

Making the leap from graduate student to professional musician is no easy task, but Mason Gross alumni are increasingly earning top-level positions with established orchestras.
Mason Gross welcomes the public to observe a lineup of master classes throughout the fall 2016 semester. The schedule features international teaching artists and Mason Gross students. Master classes (and companion recitals) are free and open to the public—no tickets are required.
The series kicks off Monday, September 26, with a master class and performance by celebrated violinist Cho-Liang Lin (schedule and details below).
