RSAC is going virtual with a three week online intensive Acting Track. Our program provides high school students with the unique opportunity to train with professionals within a collegiate environment. Our comprehensive course features study in acting, movement, acting for the camera, EDI for the Actor, singing, and more. Our program is a once in a life time opportunity that will change the trajectory of our student’s lives. Please contact RSAC@mgsa.rutgers.edu for additional information.

Audition Information

Requirements

Before your addition date, you must submit the following information to RSAC@mgsa.rutgers.edu:

  • A resume
  • A short 1–2 page essay answers the question: Why do I want to pursue a career as an actor?
  • One written recommendation from a teacher/director/a person who can talk about your acting skills

If you are unable to send this information before your audition date, please contact us.

Recorded Audition Submission Option

For our online submission, we ask you to please send us a video of you performing two contrasting monologues, no longer than four minutes total for our audition portion. Please send videos via YouTube Link or Vimeo Link to RSAC@mgsa.rutgers.edu.

After we receive the video, we will reach out to you to schedule a phone interview to get to know you. We will ask questions about your leadership abilities, your personality, your participation in school activities, and your career aspiration during the phone interview.

Zoom Live Audition Option

If you prefer to perform your monologues live via Aoom, please email RSAC@mgsa.rutgers.edu to schedule a date and time for your audition, which should take approximately 25 minutes.

Please prepare two contrasting monologues, no longer than four minutes total for our audition portion. After you deliver your monologues, we will spend about 15 minutes to get to know you. We will ask questions about your leadership abilities, your personality, your participation in school activities, and your career aspirations.

The final schedule will be confirmed and sent to all students ahead of the program start.

Monday–Friday

  • 9–10 a.m. Movement/Voice
  • 10:30 a.m.–12 p.m. Advanced Acting
  • 12:30–1:30 p.m. Lunch Break
  • 1:30–3:30 p.m. Acting for the Camera; Monologues/Audition Prep
  • 4– 5 p.m. EDI & the Actor; Singing
  • 5–7 p.m. Dinner Break
  • 7– 9 p.m. Guest Panels/Radio Plays/Classic Cinema/Live Stage

Saturday

  • 11 a.m.– 1 p.m. Master Class I
  • 3–5 p.m. Master Class II

Sunday

  • Offline Day Reading, Homework, Individual Practice
