Dance lecture/performance Oct. 2

At 8 p.m. Oct. 2, the Mason Gross Dance and Music departments will present an interdisciplinary event featuring a lecture by University of Salzburg scholar Claudia Jeschke speaking about Nijinsky's Afternoon of  Faun. Dancer Michael Novak (pictured) of Paul Taylor Dance Company will do a demonstration, and Nancy Rao of the Mason Gross Music Department will provide additional commentary.

The Jesche lecture is part of a new lecture/performance series committed to "praxis," that is, linking theory and practice. Events feature a presentation by a sponsored artist who partners with Mason Gross School faculty from a different but related field of study.

The lecture/demonstration, free and open to the public, is part of the Mason Gross Presents Series and will take place in Loree Dance Theater.
