In her September 7 New York Magazine cover story “How to Disappear Completely,” writer Madeline Leung Coleman describes Oscar-nominated Theater alum Sebastian Stan (BFA’05) as “one of the best art-house actors working today”—despite the attention he’s drawn for his turns as Marvel’s Bucky Barnes and President Donald J. Trump (2024’s The Apprentice).
“After two decades in Hollywood, Stan has become a leading man by physically transforming himself—and by searching for lower-budget, independent, and international films in which to do it,” writes Leung Coleman, who mentions his Golden Globe Award-winning turn in 2024’s A Different Man. The extensive article covers the sweep of Stan’s career—from a Law & Order guest spot in 2003, to I, Tonya in 2017, 2022’s Pam & Tommy, and Fjord, which won the Palme d’Or at Cannes earlier this year.
Look for Stan to return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe this December in Avengers: Doomsday.
