Rutgers Woodwind Day 2016, an event for woodwind players and students of all ages and abilities, will be presented on Sunday, February 21, 2016, in the Marryott Music Building, Nicholas Music Center, and Mortensen Hall on the Douglass Campus of Rutgers University in New Brunswick. The event is open to professionals, amateurs, students, teachers, parents, and music directors from the greater New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and New York areas.
Meet and work with music faculty members of the Mason Gross School of the Arts: Kaoru Hinata, flute; Maureen Hurd, clarinet; Paul Cohen, saxophone; Andrew Adelson, oboe; and Christopher Wickham, bassoon. Hear performances by faculty as well as Mason Gross undergraduate and graduate music students. Participate in master classes, workshops, and performances.
Participants will have the opportunity to try and purchase a vast assortment of woodwind instruments and accessories. A master repair person will be on site all day for minor repairs. Registration fee is $15 in advance or $20 at the door. Parents/guardians attend free.

11:30 a.m. Presentation: Mark and Christina Sloss, Professional Wind Instrument Consultants of New Jersey: Selecting a New Instrument.
12 p.m. Presentation: Jen Augello, Reserve Method Artist for D'Addario: Clinic/Trial on Reeds, Mouthpieces, and More.
12:30 p.m. Presentation: Rich Grossman: Working Effectively with your Private Instructor
1 p.m. Presentation: Clarinetist Larry Guy on Reeds.
1:30 p.m. Clarinet Master Class taught by Larry Guy.
2:30 p.m. Presentation: Threeds Oboe Trio: Entrepreneurship and Creativity in Programming.
3 p.m. Performance: Threeds Oboe Trio.
4-5 p.m. Exclusive exhibit time.
