Professor in Painting
Thomas Nozkowski is a painter whose 70 0ne-person shows include solo exhibitions at the Pace Gallery New York (2013), the Russell Bowman Gallery, Chicago (2013) and Senior & Shopmaker, New York (2012). Survey exhibitions of his work include those at the National Gallery of Canada, Ottawa; the Ludwig Museum, Koblenz; the Corcoran Gallery of Art, Washington and Haunch of Venison, London. Nozkowski participated in the 2007 Venice Biennale. His work is in the permanent collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Museum of Modern Art, the Hirshhorn Museum, the Phillips Collection, the Morgan Library, the Irish Museum of Modern Art among many others. Nozkowski is a member of the American Academy of Arts and Letters, the National Academy of Design and is a Guggenheim Fellow. He has received the President’s Citation from The Cooper Union and the Medal of Merit in Painting from the American Academy.
