Mason Gross School of the Arts B.F.A. program is designed for those students who are seeking to integrate a rigorous professional training program with a liberal arts education. The curricula of the school gives students a thorough and rigorous education as artists balanced with a foundation in humanities provided by required liberal arts courses. The result is a well-rounded student of theater arts. The following are the separate concentrations of the B.F.A. progam, each requiring a four-year curriculum commitment. All students entering as freshman and all acting transfer students are required to complete a four-year, full-time residency. Transfer students in Design and Production are required to complete a three-year, full-time residency.
Acting students spend their junior year at the Rutgers Conservatory at Shakespeare's Globe in London. This is the only B.F.A. program which offers sequential conservatory training in London. Designers and Stage Managers study at the Rutgers Conservatory at Shakespeare's Globe during the fall semester of the junior or senior years. Students are interviewed/auditioned as part of the admission process and continue in their program each year by faculty invitation only. Students interested in the B.F.A. Program should refer to the Theater Arts Admission page on this site. For more overview information, please contact: The Office of Undergraduate Admissions
