Dance Dept. offers free movement classes to people with Parkinson’s

The Mason Gross School Dance Department is partnering with the New Jersey Parkinson’s Disease Information and Referral Center at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital and New Jersey Ballet to present a series of movement classes for people with Parkinson’s disease. Classes, which run all Wednesdays from June 10 through July 29, 2015, are free, and drop-ins are welcome. 

The classes, which feature live music, take place on Wednesdays at RWJ Fitness Center. Instructors guide participants through a series of balance and stability activities.

Professional dancer David Tamaki, who leads the New Jersey Ballet’s Dancing for Parkinson’s program, is the primary instructor.

The schedule of free movement classes is as follows:

Wednesdays: June 10, 17, 24; and July 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29. Drop-ins any day are welcome.
