Artist Diploma

The Artist Diploma (A.D.) is intended for advanced students in performance who wish to concentrate more narrowly on performance-related study than the D.M.A. curriculum permits. It differs from the D.M.A. program in that there are no required classes in music history or theory. Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in German, French, or Italian, and pass written and oral comprehensive examinations. Four solo recitals and one chamber recital are required for completion of the degree. The M.M. degree (or its equivalent) is required for admission.
