8:15- 11:30 a.m. Level 1 Test (English and Math) Hickman Hall 138
10- 11:30 a.m. Level 1 Math (for English exempt students) Hickman Hall 138
11:30 a.m.- 12:30 p.m. Lunch Break (Picture ID taken; bring money for lunch) Hickman Hall 123
12:30- 1:45 p.m. Level 2 Math Test Hickman Hall 138
1:45 p.m. Students will break off with their individual departments
2:15-3:30 p.m. Foreign Language Placement Tests (for Dance students planning on completing the Ed.M.)
Registration for the Placement Test is required.
DANCE STUDENTS -You must complete Math Part II. The Dance Department will register you for the appropriate courses. There is no registration session for Dance today.
Some dance students may need to complete the Foreign Language Placement Test from 2:15 p.m.-3:30 p.m.
MUSIC STUDENTS– As soon as you have finished your Level 2 Math test (this could be before 1:45pm ), join Ellen Leibowtiz in the Marryott Music Building for registration. End time approximately 3:30 p.m.
VISUAL ARTS STUDENTS – JOIN AMEE POLLACK IN HICKMAN ROOM 202 FOR REGISTRATION End time approximately 2:30 p.m.
THEATER STUDENTS – May leave at the conclusion of Math Part II. Class registration will take place on campus in August.
HELP! I CAN’T ATTEND ON MAY 11: WHAT SHOULD I DO?
Out-of-state students, international students, religiously observant students and students who truly cannot come to campus on May 11, must register to take the RU Placement Tests on a different day. Do this at oirap.rutgers.edu/testplace.html. IT IS ESSENTIAL that you complete the placement tests by June 2013 or as soon as your schedule will allow. If you cannot come to campus, contact the University Test Coordinator, April Pagano, at email@example.com or 732-932-8445. Arrange to complete the tests at your high school. Arrangements must be made before your high school graduation. To register, contact the academic advisor in your department.
I NEED SPECIAL TEST ACCOMMODATIONS: SHOULD I ATTEND ON MAY 11?
On May 11, we are not able to extend accommodations for students with special needs. You are asked to contact April Pagano, test coordinator, at the number above to make individual arrangements to complete the placement tests. Then contact your departmental advisor to register for class.
WHAT CAN I DO TO PREPARE FOR THE PLACEMENT TESTS?
We urge you to review sample questions without using a calculator at oirap.rutgers.edu/testplace.html. Please take these tests seriously; the results have an impact on the classes you will be required to take.

Housing- Please consider choosing the Performing Arts House in the New Gibbons complex. This special-interest housing has been designed for Mason Gross students. The residence is a creative, collaborative arts house that provides practice rooms appropriate for individual or group work in the building. New Gibbons is a short walk from Bettenbender Plaza, where most dance classes and rehearsals take place. Complete your housing application as early as possible, and fill out the application for the Mason Gross Performing Arts House. This option will fill quickly. This building is co-ed.
