Teen dancers: Register for "Dance Composition Techniques" set for Sunday, Oct. 16!

Want to learn more about how to create your own choreography?

Join conservatory faculty at Rutgers University's Mason Gross School of the Arts from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 16,  for a workshop with our fall 2011 guest artist from the United Kingdom, Jacqueline Smith-Autard.

Toolbox for Teen Dancers: Dance Composition Techniques with Jacqueline Smith-Autard will help dancers ages 13 to 18 learn a set of compositional tools that can be used to shape and structure captivating choreography. This workshop has been offered internationally and includes a sneak peek at cutting-edge technology used by choreographers all over the world.

Dancers with varying levels of choreographic experience are welcome for an afternoon of serious fun in our nurturing college environment. The possibilities are endless!

The workshop will take place in Dance Studio 110 in Nicholas Music Center, part of the Mason Gross Performing Arts Center at 85 George St. at Ryders Lane, Douglass Campus, New Brunswick. Come by yourself for $50 or bring a friend and you both attend for $80. Layered dance attire and sweats required; ballet or jazz shoes optional.
