Rutgers Children’s Choir auditions June 4 and 7

Auditions will occur on the following days/times:

Monday, June 4, 2012, Rehearsal Hall 104
4:30-6 p.m., Choristers and Chorale
6:15-7:30 p.m., Scarlet Singers (high school ensemble)

Thursday, June 7, 2012, Rehearsal Hall 104
4:30-6 p.m., Choristers and Chorale
6:15-7:30 p.m., Scarlet Singers (high school ensemble)

About the audition process:
Auditions will be scheduled in 15-minute increments. Students sing together in small groups (no more than four students at once).

Students will receive results via email the week of June 11, 2012.

About the ensembles:

Choristers: Third to fifth grade. Meets 5:45-7:05 p.m. Wednesdays
Chorale: Fifth to eighth grade. Meets 5:45-7:05 p.m. Wednesdays
Scarlet Singers: Ninth to 12th grade (changed voices). Meets 7-8:45 p.m. Tuesdays. Boys younger than ninth grade whose voices are changing or already changed may also be considered for this ensemble.

ANSWERS TO FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

• Rutgers Chamber Singers DOES require a re-audition. Re-auditions occur in fall 2012; date TBA.
• Returning students DO NOT need to re-audition.
• Choristers who wish to move up to Chorale will be assessed by Dr. Hackworth during the first rehearsal in September 2012. Dr. Hackworth reserves the right to keep fifth-graders in Choristers for another semester or year if that is what is best for their development.
