Inclement Weather

If Rutgers University closes for inclement weather, the Extension Division will also close.  Please refer to the Rutgers Campus Status Page at http://campusstatus.rutgers.edu or call the Extension Division office at 732.932.8618 for closure notices.  In the event of a cancellation due to inclement weather, a make-up will be offered, schedule permitting.

Make-up Lessons/Classes

Make-up lessons are not offered for student absences, even if the student calls in advance.  Private music instructors are not obligated to provide make-up lessons or classes that are missed by the student.  The Extension Division does guarantee make-up lessons missed due to instructor absence or school closure.  If an instructor cancels a lesson, it will be made up at the student’s normal lesson time during the make-up week reserved at the end of each semester.  Any additional absences on the part of the instructor will be made up on an alternative date, convenient to both the instructor and student.  In the event that an instructor is unable to make up missed lessons, a refund or credit towards future study will be issued to the student.

Refunds

Students must commit to an entire semester.  If the student discontinues lessons before the end of the semester, no refund will be issued.  Exceptions may be made in cases of extended illness, serious injury, and medical emergencies.  The director and program coordinator will review refund requests and make decisions regarding refunds on a case-by-case basis.

Cancellations

The Extension Division reserves the right to cancel courses with insufficient enrollment.  A full tuition refund will be issued to those who have registered.

Changes in Student Information

It is the responsibility of the student to notify the Extension Division office of any changes to his/her address, telephone number, or email address.
