Bomi Kim

Visual Arts

Bomi Kim is an artist from California. She received a BA in art studio and graduated with highest honors at University of California Davis. She also attended Chautauqua Institute School of Art, in Chautauqua, NY.

Influenced by Californian ceramic sculptures, Kim works with large-scale ceramic sculptures and installations that deal with cultural identity and gender roles within family dynamics. Her work was recently exhibited in a group show in Sacramento.

She currently lives in New Brunswick where she is in the process of earning her masters at Mason Gross School of the Arts. Previously, Kim has taught ceramics to elementary school students as part of an after school enrichment program. She was an assistant for beginning ceramics sculpture classes at University of California Davis.

Kim is interested in working with students and helping them develop their own unique ways of dealing with the plasticity of clay.
