Nicole Y. Roberts

Nicole Y. Roberts is a dance educator and artist who began her involvement in dance at an early age.  Ms. Roberts received training in modern dance and the Cecchetti and Vaganova methods of ballet.  She continued pursuing her passion of dance by earning her bachelor of fine arts degree in dance performance and education from Towson University; and her master of education degree in dance education from Rutgers University.  She holds a K-12 New Jersey Certificate of Eligibility with Advanced Standing (NJ CEAS) in dance; and is a certified Cecchetti ballet instructor (primary – grade three).  Ms. Roberts has taught in public schools and private studios, using her signature teaching style, which often leans toward the integration of literacy, imagery, and dance.  She has conducted several dance workshops and has choreographed various works for community events and musical productions.  She performed with the Towson University Dance Company and continues performing and choreographing as an independent artist.  Currently, Ms. Roberts is a teaching artist with Dance Theatre of Harlem’s dance education outreach program, “Dancing Through Barriers.”  She intends to continue to touch the dance community through her artistry and passion for the arts as she is so inspired.
