Christy J. Velazquez

Christy Velazquez is a performer, choreographer, and educator from Staten Island, New York. In 2010 Christy graduated from The College of Staten Island with a Bachelor of Arts in Women studies and a minor in dance.  In 2012 Christy earned her Master's Degree of Education in Dance Education from the Graduate School of Education at Rutgers University with a PK-12 certificate of eligibility with Advanced Standing in Dance.  Christy has performed in groups and as a soloist in national and regional competitions, local events, and venues throughout the tri-state area.  This past summer Christy completed the Broadway Dance Center training program where she trained intensely for two months with elite faculty and prestigious guest artists. Christy has taught tap, jazz, and ballet to elementary aged children for three years and is a choreographer for pop singer "Geo Louis".  In 2009 Christy was the LEA scholarship award recipient in honor of her hard work and dedication as a dancer.
