Brittany Engel-Adams

Brittany Engel-Adams is a dancer, performing artist, teacher, and choreographer based in New York. In 2007 she attended the Alvin Ailey School and was the recipient of the Oprah Winfrey Fellowship. From 2007–2009 she performed with the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater during their New York City Season, and later toured nationally and internationally with Ailey II. Engel-Adams was invited by Ohad Naharin to study Gaga in Tel Aviv with the Batsheva Dance Company. The Gaga language is an integral part in Engel-Adams’ work and research as a performing artist and dance educator.

Engel-Adams is the company manager/rehearsal director as well as performer for Company SBB/Stephanie Batten Bland. She dances for Dana Katz, Naomi Goldberg Haas, and Dance the Yard. She choreographed works for Joffrey Contemporary School, Brooklyn Ballet, and Cynthia King Dance. Engel-Adams performed across disciplines for projects like Sleep No More, “Ward Of The Feral Horses” video dance. She is featured in the film Chiraq directed by Spike Lee, and was featured in the HBO series Boardwalk Empire. Engel-Adams teaches Horton based modern, Improv and contemporary dance forms at the Brooklyn Ballet, Cynthia King Dance, Steps on Broadway, and Joffrey Contemporary School.
