Rutgers Film Bureau "tackles most exciting and weighty issues of our time"

The Rutgers Film Bureau is featured in an article on mycentraljersey.com that explains how visual storytelling through documentary film is quickly becoming a "primary communication medium."

Students work on professional productions through the bureau as part of the Rutgers Digital Filmmaking Certificate Program. They are investigating issues including childhood obesity, climate change, technological breakthroughs, scientific explorations, and the veteran experience.

Students have journeyed around the world to capture their stories, including trips to Nashville, TN; Alabama; the Virgin Islands; Brazil; Spain; and Thailand, and will travel to Italy this summer.

Jelan Coley is working on a documentary that follows the lives of 10 Rutgers student veterans. "When you learn about other people’s lives as we have been able to do in the making of this film, it makes the world a smaller place,” Coley said in the article. Read more here.
