Photography in Performance is both a gallery show and performance project highlighting the creative work dance faculty member John Evans pursued during his Fall 2016 sabbatical. In collaboration with two professional dance companies, Evans worked with improvisation structures to document candid moments in the dancers’ relationships and to capture ideas dealing with motion and color.
Featured performances include danceTactics performance group (which is directed by faculty member Keith Thompson) and Evans' work on a duet with a narrative story line bolstered by photograph projections of the performers. as well as Evans and Laura Peterson Choreography's quartet that includes a flexible improvisation structure defined by the passing of time through photographs.
