Concert presentation of Beethoven’s only opera. In 16th-century Spain, Florestan is unjustly imprisoned by the tyrannical Don Pizzaro. His wife, Leonore, tries to rescue him using the male name Fidelio, dressing in men's clothes and ingratiating herself with the jailer's family.
