The Nikolais/Louis Summer Dance Intensive offers professional and pre-professional dancers the opportunity to study the ground-breaking modern dance technique of legendary American artists Alwin Nikolais and Murray Louis. Focusing on theories of time, space, shape, and motion, this performance technique develops the complete artist. It provides valuable skills to those seeking clarity and versatility in their dancing, while exploring their full creative potential. Studying with Artistic Director Alberto del Saz, original Nikolais company member Phyllis Lamhut, and former principal dancer Kim Gibilisco, participants will receive personalized, thoughtful instruction in a supportive environment. Area housing recommendations are available.

Location:  All camp activities are held on the Douglass Campus of Rutgers University.  Nicholas Music Center and Marryott Music Building are where majority of camp activities are held.

Faculty: Alberto del Saz, Kim Gibilisco, Phyllis Lamhut, and Peter Kyle. Faculty subject to availability.
