Generation at Risk: Joining Forces to Fight Childhood Obesity

Generation at Risk: Joining Forces to Fight Childhood Obesity follows multiple community and university initiatives in their collective fight against childhood obesity. Featured in the film are community activists, families, the New Brunswick Community Food Alliance, Elijah's Promise, public and private pre-schools, Camden public and charter schools, local farmers, George Street Playhouse, and Rutgers research faculty including those partnering with the New Jersey Institute for Food, Nutrition and Health.

The strategy of the New Jersey Institute for Food, Nutrition and Health is to approach the problem of childhood obesity as a complex systems failure, one that needs an interdisciplinary solution. NJIFNH is deliberately connecting cutting edge researchers in nutrition, exercise science, psychology, anthropology, urban planning, agriculture and many other disciplines to community health initiatives and policy makers.

Generation at Risk is an ongoing feature documentary project produced by the Rutgers Film Bureau faculty, staff and students. The full feature film is scheduled for completion in 2014.
