Yael Nativ

Yael (yali) Nativ is a dance scholar and a choreography teacher. She began her academic studies in Dance Education in Israel and then completed her degrees at the Sorbonne University in Paris in the area of choreography and at SFSU in San Francisco, where she received her Master's degree in Interdisciplinary Education of the Creative Arts.

Dr. Nativ received her PhD from the department of Sociology of Education, School of Education at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, where she teaches today. In her research and writing, she explores social and cultural present and historical issues looking at the linkage between body, movement, knowledge, ethics, gender and creativity.

Dr. Nativ also teaches at the Faculty of Music Education at Levinsky College of Education in Tel-Aviv, at Mosinson high school dance program in Hod-Hasharon and she serves as a Senior Lecturer at ASA – The Academic College for Society and Arts in Netanya.

She is a member of the Professional Dance Committee at the Israeli Ministry of Education, a member of the Dance Committee at the Israeli Ministry of Culture and Sports and a co-founder and member of the Israeli Association for Dance Research.
