Ray McAnally

An award-winning stage actor, Ray McAnally teaches acting and theater skills at professional conservatories, studios, and universities in New York, New Jersey, and California. 

McAnally’s most notable on-camera credits include guest stars on Modern Family, Law & Order SVU, 30 Rock, Royal Pains, Rizzoli & Isles, as well as roles in such feature films as Compliance (Sundance 2012), I Don’t Know How She Does It (Weinstein Co.), and Ghost Town (DreamWorks).  Notable New York theatre credits include the Broadway national tour of Defending the Caveman (one-man show) and the Off-Broadway premiere of God’s Ear (original cast) at New Yorks Vineyard Theatre & New Georges.  McAnally has worked at regional theatres such asCincinnati Playhouse, Repertory Theatre of St Louis, Long Wharf, Two River, TheaterWorks Hartford, Ensemble Theatre Cincinnati, and the Pasadena Playhouse (upcoming).  McAnally’s awards include two Best Lead Actor in Comedy 2015 for Francis in One Man, Two Guvnors (St Louis Critics Circle Awards and Broadwayworld.com); Best Lead Actor 2013 for Jeffrey Hatcher in Mrs. Mannerly (League of Cincinnati Theatres); and Outstanding Supporting Performance 2009 for Ellard in The Foreigner (Acclaim Award of Cincinnati).

McAnally’s writing credits include Size Matters—a full length autobiographical one-man show. The show, with three productions under its belt after premiering in 2014, is directed by Tony Award-winning former artistic director and former Mason Gross faculty Ed Stern. Other credits include two short plays: The Odd Ball and Homeland, which have been produced at festivals on both coasts; and more than 45 original comedy shorts produced by Daily Fiber Films, LLC with features on FunnyOrDie.com, CNN, and The Food Network.

McAnally holds an MFA in acting from Mason Gross and a BA from Sewanee. He is a member of AEA and SAG-AFTRA
