Richard Baker

Part-time lecturer

Richard Baker has been exhibiting regularly in New York City since 1989, showing with the Joan T. Washburn Gallery until 2005. Since then, he has had five shows with the Tibor de Nagy Gallery, which currently represents his work. He has also exhibited annually at the Albert Merola Gallery in Provincetown, Massachusetts, since the late 1980s. Solo exhibitions include those at the Arthur Roger Gallery in New Orleans and the Gregory Lind Gallery in San Francisco, among others. His work has been seen in numerous group shows nationally. Baker has been the recipient of a New England Foundation for the Arts/NEA Fellowship, a Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grant, and a New York Foundation for the Arts Fellowship. He was a Fellow at the Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown and has been a visiting artist at many universities, colleges, residencies, and art centers. He has taught at Mason Gross School of the Arts since 2007. He lives and works in Brooklyn, NY.
