VISIT RUTGERS, NEW BRUNSWICK

We’re eager to help prospective students, their parents, and visitors discover more about Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, and all it has to offer. So we’re delighted to welcome you to our new Visitor Center, your gateway to Rutgers. The center is the starting point for tours of the Rutgers–New Brunswick and a place to interact with exhibits that illustrate the university’s history and the contributions Rutgers faculty, students, and alumni have made to New Jersey, the United States, and the world.

SCARLET DAY PLUS

Scarlet Day Plus provides the visitor with an in-depth visit that includes an information session hosted by an admissions counselor followed by a bus tour of the New Brunswick campus with a student guide. Following the tour, you will have the opportunity to attend a presentation and q&a with the Admissions Director of Mason Gross School of the Arts. Scarlet Day plus events do not include walking tours of the Mason Gross facilities, so you are highly encouraged to spend the whole day with us on campus by also arranging tours with the department in which you are interested in learning about.  Summer 2012 Mason Gross Scarlet Day Plus dates are:

  • June 20, 2012 - PM Session
  • July 19, 2012 - PM Session

If you can't make a Scarlet Day Plus tour, join us on one of our general info sessions and campus tours:

General campus tours are given Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m.–5 p.m. (except major holidays).

VISIT DANCE

COLLEGE DANCE DAY

High school students with previous dance experience may choose from a variety of master classes with professional faculty, interact with university dance majors, visit the Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey’s campus, watch a live college performance, meet with admissions representatives and see what life at a major university dance program is like. 

When: The 2011 College Dance Days took place on November 17th and 18th and were a huge success!  We hope you can join us for our 2012 College Dance Day.  Please check back here next September for registration information!

OPEN HOUSE/INFO SESSIONS/TOUR

The best way for undergraduates to have their questions answered, meet faculty and current students and take a tour of our facilities is to attend one of our Open House Events:

  • 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

Open houses take place in the Marryott Music Building’s Schare Recital Hall, Douglass Campus, 81 George Street next to the Nicholas Music Center. Parking is free in Lot 79, Hickman Hall.

To reserve a spot please email music@masongross.rutgers.edu if you will attend. Note the date of the event, your instrument or voice range, your full name, contact information and your mailing address for a parking pass.

Reservations are not mandatory but are appreciated.

PRIVATE TOUR APPOINTMENTS

Undergraduates: Tours are given by appointment Monday - Thursday.  Please call 848-932-5210 or email visualarts@masongross.rutgers.edu to make a reservation for a tour. Although walk-ins are welcome, each session limited to 15 participants so we highly recommend you reserve a spot in advance.
