School to School Transfer

The Dance and Visual Arts department will consider School-to-School transfer applicants for the Spring 2017 semester. The Dance, Filmmaking, Music, Theater, and Visual Departments will consider School-to-School transfer applicants for the Fall 2017 semester.

If you are currently enrolled in a Rutgers undergraduate degree program (other than from the School of Health Related Professions) and wish to pursue a degree program at the Mason Gross School of the Arts, please complete the following in this order:

  1. Email admissions@masongross.rutgers.edu stating that you are interested in applying to one of our BFA or BM programs as a School to School Transfer applicant. For Spring 2017 consideration, email by October 15, 2016 (dance and visual arts applicants only). For Fall 2017 consideration, email by December 1, 2016. You will be sent a link to complete the Mason Gross supplemental application or submit a portfolio to our Visual Arts or Filmmaking program. 
  2. Complete the School to School Transfer Application, once it becomes available online by clicking here.

** Please note that if you wait to complete the school to school application before you complete the Mason Gross Supplemental Application you will likely miss our audition/interview dates and portfolio deadlines.

All school to school transfer applicants to the BFA and BM programs in Dance, Music, Theater, and Visual Arts must also complete a talent evaluation for the department in which they are applying.

Return from Absence

Returning to Rutgers? If you were previously enrolled in an undergraduate degree program at any campus of Rutgers University and wish to return to take undergraduate courses for either degree or non-degree study, please complete the following online forms to apply for re-entrance:

  1. Email admissions@masongross.rutgers.edu stating that you are interested in applying to one of our BFA or BM programs as a School to School Transfer applicant. For Spring 2017 consideration, email by October 15, 2016 (dance and visual arts applicants only). For Fall 2017 consideration, email by December 1, 2016. You will be sent a link to complete the Mason Gross supplemental application or submit a portfolio to our Visual Arts or Filmmaking program. 
  2. Complete the Re-Enrollment Application, once it becomes available online by clicking here.

Students must have a valid 9 digit RUID in order to create a Mason Gross Supplemental Application Account.

All re-enrollment applicants to the BFA and BM programs in Dance, Music, Theater, and Visual Arts must also complete a talent evaluation for the department in which they are applying.

Declaring a BA or Minor

Students who wish to declare a BA in Dance, Music, Theater, and Visual Arts should contact their current advisor for more information about class registration.  Please read below if the BA of your choice requires an audition or portfolio review.  BA majors or minors who are required to complete a talent evaluation ARE NOT required to complete a supplemental application for Mason Gross.  Please contact the advisor below to arrange your talent evaluation:
