Audition/Interview Dates

All students applying to the dance, music and theater arts departments must complete an audition or interview on the dates indicated below. Visual Arts students only need to submit their portfolio online and are not required to attend an in-person interview.

Applicants are strongly encouraged to audition on-campus and in-person whenever possible. However, Mason Gross recognizes that travel can be costly and does allow students submit Recorded Auditions for certain programs.

It is preferred that auditions are scheduled after you have completed your Rutgers University application for admission.

Audition requirements vary by your performance division. Please, carefully review the requirements linked on the side menu above and note any special instructions for your field of study.

Auditions for the music department are arranged through questionnaire forms, you must fill this form out to schedule your audition:

*SPRING APPLICANTS: Please note that there are no designated audition dates for students applying for spring admission. Auditions for spring applicants will be arranged by appointment via the music department. Please call 732-932-9190 for more information.

Applicants to the M.M. or D.M.A. in Conducting must contact the faculty below to make special arrangements for their audition:
