Theater Arts All students applying to the theater arts B.F.A. degree program of Mason Gross School of the Arts must audition for theater arts faculty and/or be interviewed, in addition to completing the general undergraduate admissions procedures described in the application packet. After the application for admission has been received, the student will be contacted by the Theater Arts Department to schedule an audition or interview. Transfer students are encouraged to apply and are expected to spend a minimum of three years in the B.F.A. degree program. Applicants for the acting program should prepare two monologues of their choice, one from a contemporary play and one from a classical play. Both monologues must be memorized, and the total time for both monologues should not exceed five minutes. Applicants for the design or the production and management specialties program should bring a resume of their theatrical activities, prompt book or material that reflects their interest in theater, as well as sketches, photographs or renderings of designs they have made.
