How do I go about applying to Mason Gross School of the Arts and to Rutgers University?

Do I need to audition in person?

Do I need to interview to be admitted to the Department of Music?

I am a trumpet player and a clarinet player.  Can I audition with both?

What areas of study are NOT available to me at Mason Gross in music?

Once I am admitted, how do I schedule my first semester of classes?

How do I go about applying to Mason Gross School of the Arts and to Rutgers University?

All applicants must use the standard Rutgers University application form, which is available at http://admissions.rutgers.edu/0201.asp.  There is also a $60 university application fee.

In addition, all applicants must audition. Fill out an Audition Questionnaire Form and return it with a non-refundable $50 audition fee.

Do I need to audition in person?

Live performances are preferred and are required for scholarship
consideration.

Do I need to interview to be admitted to the Department of Music?

In person Music Education interviews are required.

I am a trumpet player and a clarinet player.  Can I audition with both?

A student can audition on more than one instrument on the audition day.

What areas of study are NOT available to me at Mason Gross in music?

We do not offer Jazz Voice, Theatrical Voice, Classical Guitar, and the
Music Education option is not available with Jazz Drum and Guitar
instruments.

Once I am admitted, how do I schedule my first semester of classes?

First-year music students will be asked to come to campus to register in early May.
