For more than three decades the Mason Gross School of the Arts has trained working professionals—dancers, visual artists, musicians, filmmakers, and theater artists—fusing rigorous technique with creative daring at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey. Choreographer Cleo Mack, actor Avery Brooks, artist Joan Snyder, and former Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra lead trumpet Sean Jones are among our alumni. Actors Kristin Davis, Calista Flockhart, and many others are household names around the globe.
At the Mason Gross School, our students don't merely theorize about art—they make art. They are budding artists who collaborate with master practitioners in their field, regularly presenting a wide variety of works on campus and in nearby cultural centers such as New York City, Philadelphia, and Washington, D.C.
Please browse our website or schedule a campus visit to attend one of the more than 550 events we present annually. You will find a lively community of versatile young artists poised to take the stages and fill the galleries of the 21st century and beyond.
