Maeve Dougal

Maeve Dougal is the Director of Ballet and Director of Summer Dance Conservatories at the Mason Gross Extension Division at Rutgers University. Dougal holds an MA in Dance Education with a concentration in ABT Ballet Pedagogy from New York University and a BFA in Dance with a Ballet Emphasis from Utah Valley University. Originally from Portland, Oregon, she received her ballet training at The School of Oregon Ballet Theatre under Damara Bennett and danced with Utah Regional Ballet under the direction of Jacqueline P. Colledge and Heather Gray.
 
Dougal is an ABT® Affiliate Teacher who has successfully completed the ABT® Teacher Training Intensive in Primary through Level 7 and Partnering of the ABT® National Training Curriculum and has successfully presented students for examinations. She is currently on faculty at The Harlem School of the Arts and teaches dance to children at the Northside Center for Childhood Development. Dougal is a former faculty member of the Huntington Center for Performing Arts, The Bridge for Dance in New York City, and ABT’s DanceBermuda Summer Program. She has worked for Youth America Grand Prix (YAGP) and has completed internships with The George Balanchine Trust and the New York Choreographic Institute at New York City Ballet, and with American Ballet Theatre’s second company, ABT II.
