Laura Manko Sahin

Laura Manko Sahin has performed as a soloist, chamber musician, and orchestral player throughout the United States, Europe, and the Middle East. She was formerly the Principal violist of the Cape Cod Symphony Orchestra, violist of the Boston Harp Trio, and a member of the Bilkent (Ankara, Turkey), Knoxville, Winston-Salem Symphony Orchestras. As an advocate for music education at all ages, Laura has been on the string faculties of the Community School of Music and Arts (Mountain View, CA), Bilkent University, Boston University Tanglewood Institute, New Mexico School of Music, Rivers School Conservatory, Boston School of Music Arts, and the Community Music School - UNC School of the Arts. 
Laura recently moved to New Jersey and is excited to be on the faculty of the Mason Gross Extension Division at Rutgers University. She is a founding member of the Hubbard Quartet, violist with Santa Fe Pro Musica, and substitute violist with the Philadelphia Orchestra. During the summers, she is on viola and chamber music faculty at Luzerne Music Center and resident artist at the Meeting House Chamber Music Festival. 
Dr. Sahin completed her Doctor of Philosophy in Music from Bilkent University as a student of Ece Akyol. She earned her Artist Diploma and Master of Music from Boston University as a student and teaching assistant of Michelle LaCourse and Bachelor of Music Degree from University of North Carolina School of the Arts as a student and teaching assistant of Sheila Browne.
