Alexander Clough

Alex Clough is a pianist, keyboardist, and composer on the New York music scene.  Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, Alex was exposed early on to New York City's cultural scene and, after graduating with a B.A. from Tufts University and an M.M. from SUNY Purchase (Master of Music), embarked on a journey to find his place in the city's artistic milieu.
Alex actively pursues a number of interests.  He is the musical director of Nightingale Jazz Band and jazz and opera vocalist Marie-Claire Giraud. Other pursuits include steady accompaniment work for the Metropolitan Opera Guild and dance accompaniment at Mark Morris Dance Group, Mason Gross School of the Arts and Montclair State University, weekly keyboard direction at Recovery House of Worship in Brooklyn, and sideman work with stylistically eclectic music groups in New York City. Alex also leads the Alex Clough Quintet and is a member of the “Just Play!”, an interactive jazz trio with bassist Steve Whipple and drummer Peter Traunmueller.
